How to Help

How we work

MaaChild charity is run by volunteers here in the UK and in Kenya. In order to keep administration costs to a minimum, the trustees and volunteers in the UK and Kenya give their time freely and receive no remuneration or other reward or other financial benefit.  All are working voluntarily with passion, integrity, accountability and respect both in the UK and on the ground in Kenya.

We use the free fundraising service BT MYdonate on our website for supporters and fundraisers. This facility understands we put 100% into our fundraising, so unlike other platforms, they don’t charge a commission on the money you raise. That means every time you fundraise up to 5% more money gets to go to MaaChild directly. Every penny goes directly to the children of MaaChild .

Bursaries

With the help of our local team of Maasai volunteers and primary head teachers we identify students in most need of support from our bursaries through a four year secondary course. Funds come from our supporters in the UK, who will commit to paying the fees for the whole course. We encourage both individuals and groups to join together to consider sponsorship. In addition we raise funds from donations to cover the total cost of 4 years secondary education. As the school year begins at the beginning of February we ensure the funding for 4 years per child is secured in time for the selection of students each January. Can you help to continue the MaaChild support?
